- STAT-USA - The National
Trade Databank series of market research reports is available
(by subscription) through Stat-USA, a service of the U.S. Department
of Commerce. The site also gives access to economic news and other
databases.
- Central Intelligence Agency
- The Central Intelligence Agency keeps an updated version of
its World Fact Book available through its Web site that is extremely
useful for providing a logical basis for comparing the sales potential
of various countries throughout the world.
- U.S. Census Bureau -
Another useful site is the Census Bureau, with its population
clocks and economic analyses, both for the United States and internationally.
- U.S. Patent Office - Patent
searches are now easier with online searching through the US Patent
Bibliographic database. Patents can be searched by years, keywords,
or numbers. The abstracts can be viewed and full patents ordered
online for a modest fee.
- ZIP+4 LookUp
- How many times have you needed a valid zip+4 zipcode to keep
a database of names in shape. Well, help from your friendly post
office is just a click away.
- ZIP-City Association
- Sometimes, you need to know what a certain zipcode refers to.

- We find we frequently turn to PRNewswire for the latest press
releases about companies in our industry. Clicking on the link
below will take you directly to the Biotechnology & Healthcare
News page. It's much less expensive than accessing the news wires
through Dow Jones News Retrieval.
- Bio-Online - We also like
the quick lookups to many biotech companies available through
this link.
- Biotechnology Industry Organization - This
is the official web site for the Biotechnology Industry Organization.
- Analytical & Life Science Systems Association - This is
the premier trade association for manufacturers supplying the bioresearch industry.
- Dun & Bradstreet Online Access
- Dun & Bradstreet is often invaluable for getting background
information especially on smaller and privately-held companies.
While we usually access D&B through Dow Jones News Retrieval,
which seems faster, the company does have a Web site that can
be used for searches.
- FASEB Web Site - contains
a useful directory of members that enables you to track key scientists
that move from one location to another. There is also a useful
Buyer's Guide searchable by company name or product category.
- Marketing Research Association - Since
1954, this organization of 3000 marketing research and opinion research professionals
has promoted, and been an advocate for the marketing research industry. Highly recommended.
- ESOMAR
- The European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research is a
professional society with 4000 individual members in 100 countries.
- The Zenith Medianet
- The top 2000 marketing and media sites index.
- Yahoo Search Engine - Web
search engines are terrific for turning up useful sites by keying
in a search words or phrases. One of our favorites is still Yahoo.

- - Alta Vista
searches the content of all Web pages and permits you to retrieve
