A comprehensive listing of distributors for life science research products, painstakingly assembled by PhorTech International from more than 300 independent sources over a ten year period, is now published in its nineth edition. An essential resource, the directory will enable the International Sales Manager to rapidly ramp up substantial increases in global sales. Well over 400 new distributors have been added and thousands of updates and changes to contact information, including new email addresses and new websites have been recorded since the previous edition.
In addition, we have initiated coverage in more geographic markets bringing the total to 138 countries covered. The entries provide complete contact information (including contact person and title, company name and address, telephone, telefax, e-mail, and website) and also classifies distributors by the types of products they handle (including capital equipment, instrumentation, chemical reagents, biologicals, and software).
"A whopping 60% of the global market for life science research products lies in international markets" states Michael Eby, President of PhorTech International. "Much of this business is lost to US firms who overly focus on domestic issues while struggling with a patchwork of randomly-selected distributors. This directory provides the means to rationally upgrade the distribution network for any supplier of life science research products".
The 500+ page publication contains listings for well over than 3,900 distributors ranging from single person operations to major companies with sales in excess of $100 million. All have in common an interest in bioresearch products coupled with a unique and detailed understanding of their local markets.
Distributors are listed alphabetically by country of residence to simplify searches in particular geographic regions. The directory provides listings for distributors from 138 different countries including the US. In the latest edition of the directoy, the two largest international markets, Germany and Japan, include listings for 127 and 103 distributors respectively. However, the publication really comes into its own pinpointing distributors for smaller, often overlooked, markets. Thus, there are numerous listings to choose between for India (131), Brazil (91), Israel (66), or South Africa (56). Remarkably, the directory turns up distributors in even the smallest markets. Iceland is represented by 14 distributors, Uruguay by 19 distributors, and the Czech Republic by 58 distributors. The directory even identifies distributors in Azerbaijan, Nepal, Macedonia, the Fiji Islands, the Sultanate of Oman, Uzbekistan, and Zimbabwe.
"It's time suppliers recognized that life science research is a global endeavor", continues Michael Eby. "Scientists are working and purchasing products in more than 130 countries worldwide. If you don't have representation in these markets, they are going to buy from your competitors. You're just handing them your business. This database provides the systematic means to regain those lost sales".
PhorTech's latest directory, continues a long tradition of offering the most complete listing of international distributors in the bioresearch market. Special introductory sections cover ways to best use the directory, outline a program for improving international sales, and give estimates for the market potential for individual countries and geographic regions, based upon proprietary PhorTech data and government assessments. The new directory is priced at $595 for the print edition and should be considered an essential resource for anyone seriously planning to succeed in this increasingly competitive area.
The electronic version, delivered on CD-ROM or via email, costs $995 and contains an Adobe Acrobat version of the directory (*.pdf) that can be viewed, searched, or extracted by computer, or printed out in whole or in part, as well as spreadsheet files (*.xls) for screening and analysis or for use with mail merged communications.
